Huaibin County Plans To Build Huaihe Textile And Garment Vocational College

A few days ago, Huaibin County plans to invest 2 billion yuan to build Huaihe textile and clothing vocational college. Once the news was sent out, it immediately aroused great concern and expectation of the society. The Huaihe textile and clothing vocational college is the only one in our province to set up a major in textile and clothing.

Huaibin County is located in the middle and upper reaches of the Huaihe River, "Three Rivers surround one county and one river runs through the East and the west". The registered population is 820000, and the surplus labor force is 390000. There are 310000 migrant workers all year round, including more than 100000 people engaged in textile and clothing in coastal areas.

Huaibin County industrial cluster area was successfully promoted to a two-star industrial cluster area in 2019. It continued to rise significantly in the ranking of 180 industrial agglomeration areas in the province. It has surpassed 62 places in three years. It has won the "Golden Star Award" for the construction of industrial agglomeration area in Henan Province for two consecutive years, forming a leading industry dominated by light and textile, shipbuilding and food.

From a textile enterprise in 2006 to now there are more than 100 textile and garment enterprises. The textile and garment industry has developed into a "head goose" industry in Huaibin County. At present, Huaibin County has built many textile and garment industrial parks, such as Zhejiang textile park, Jiangsu textile park, textile science and technology experimental base, and formed a strong large-scale industrial cluster. The output value of the textile and clothing industry reached 11.9 billion yuan, and the cluster scale exceeded 10 billion yuan. In 2020, it was awarded the title of intelligent manufacturing base of Chinese knitted apparel by China Textile Industry Association.

Huaibin County attaches great importance to the preparatory work of Huaihe textile and garment vocational college. A leading group has been set up with special classes under it. At present, the site selection of the project has been preliminarily determined. The planned construction area is in the west of Jiangguo road and east of Taitou Expressway intersection. The planned construction land is 1000 mu, and 300 mu of land is planned for the first phase of construction.
