Huawei'S "Midfield Battle": Upgrading Smart Home, Pushing Hongmeng Zhihui Screen And Reconstructing IOT Track?
In 2020, Huawei's product line of consumer business is further expanding.
On December 21, Huawei officially released three series of products for family and travel scenarios.
The first is Huawei's smart home strategy and whole house intelligent solution, which, as the name suggests, is the software and hardware system to enhance the intelligence of home life; the second is Huawei's smart screen s series, which is equipped with the latest version of Hongmeng OS. This series is a new member of Huawei's smart screen family. Its products are positioned in the middle and low-end market, with six models in three screen sizes of 55, 65 and 75 inches; the third is vehicle intelligence Screen, this product has been announced before, and now officially appears. It is the first hardware in Huawei's product line and the first rear mounted vehicle product supported by Huawei hicar.
Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, said at the scene that hicar has already cooperated with more than 20 car manufacturers. It is estimated that 5 million cars will be pre installed next year. For models without hicar pre installed, they can be equipped with on-board smart screens to update the experience.
From the general background, the further crackdown in the United States this year has brought new challenges to Huawei's consumer business. For this reason, Huawei has to speed up the development of Hongmeng OS and other software levels, and after integrating with hardware, reconstruct Huawei's full scene experience.

Accelerate the layout of smart home, hand in hand with the real estate circle of friends
Smart home is not a new thing. Huawei, oppo, vivo, Xiaomi and other manufacturers have already set out. Huawei has been involved in the underlying protocol, network connection, and hardware equipment. On this basis, Huawei cooperates with partners to build smart home infrastructure construction solutions, and cooperates with many real estate developers and channel providers to cut into the whole house intelligent system provision.
Last year, Huawei disclosed the relevant plans of the whole house intelligence. This time, Huawei officially released the all in one solution, which includes one host, two networks and N hardware. Through the integrated home infrastructure construction scheme of network integration and equipment integration, the intelligent interconnection and collaboration of intelligent hardware, sound, light, hydropower and other systems in the whole house is realized.
According to reports, in terms of network convergence, Huawei uses PLC IOT technology to integrate the power network and narrow-band communication network, greatly reducing the deployment cost and pipeline cost. An electrician can complete the networking and realize the unified management of equipment. In terms of equipment integration, Huawei integrates the traditional optical cat, router, patch panel and other equipment, and embeds the intelligent host into the wall, which does not occupy the housing area.
The smart home industry has experienced three stages of development: the early stage is mainly composed of hydropower infrastructure and traditional household appliances, which only meets the basic living needs. Later, it gradually evolved into the digital home stage that relies on digital broadband as the home infrastructure and introduces intelligent home appliances with remote control and Internet access functions. With the upgrading and development of AI, IOT and other technologies, the industry will continue to evolve in the stage of smart home where the whole house intelligent experience and smart scene are organically combined.
However, in Huawei's view, if it wants to upgrade from "digital home" to "smart home", the industry still faces multiple challenges of technology, standards and experience. At present, the intellectualization of the digital home stage is still mainly reflected in the single product itself or discrete vertical subsystem. There is no communication and scene interaction between the systems, and there is no unified control port, so it is difficult to realize the real integrated intelligent experience of the whole house. In this context, the home appliance industry needs a platform or a new ecology to break these barriers.
At present, Huawei's Smart Life app has 400 million app installed capacity, 54 million active users, and 1.08 billion Smart Life app requests a day.
Hongmeng OS continues to implement integrated hardware PK in IOT Era
In the era of 5g and the Internet of things, Huawei's consumer business has released a 5g full scene strategy of "1 + 8 + n". Among them, "1" refers to smart phones, "8" refers to large screen, speaker, glasses, watch, car, headset, tablet, etc. around the eight key products, there are n products developed by partners. Today, on top of the hardware represented by "1 + 8 + n", Huawei has also added the operating system layer of Hongmeng OS and hIaI, as well as the upper HMS application ecology.
This is also Huawei's strategic layout on the IOT track. In addition to the overall solution of smart home, Huawei also continues to expand the categories of smart screen products.
For example, the smart screen s series is equipped with a magnetic suction AI camera and supports the communication with Huawei children's watch. Based on the distributed capability of Hongmeng system, Huawei's smart screen s series improves the experience of cross screen and multi device connection. For example, on the basis of supporting one touch screen projection and dual mobile phone screen projection, the privacy protection function of mirror projection screen is added. When the mobile phone mirror projection screen is adopted, the status bar, notification column, call reminder and other information of the mobile phone can be shielded.
The vehicle smart screen can be connected with the mobile phone to realize the image data transmission by Wi Fi, audio data transmission by Bluetooth, cross screen application of mobile phone, and voice control and 2K ultra wide angle AI driving camera to record driving images.
The mobile phone industry has already started the competition of intelligent hardware and IOT track. The manufacturers of the first echelon of mobile phones in the world have prepared "family buckets" of software and hardware, ranging from mobile phones, watches, televisions, to cars and so on.
In the first half of 2020, Huawei's global sales of mobile phones reached 105 million units, and the consumer business income reached 255.8 billion yuan. Other hardware has also grown rapidly. According to the data released by Huawei, smart watches ranked second in the world and the first in China in the first half of this year. The global sales of notebook computers increased by 120%, ranking the second in China. However, in terms of smart screen, Huawei did not disclose the sales data, so it did not rank in the top 10 in China.
In the past, the leading role of mobile phones has naturally created a new business line for Huawei. Under the new challenges, the scenes of family, entertainment and travel behind the "1 + 8 + n" have accelerated to open up a new world and become a signal to deepen the layout of multi-product lines.
Huawei has not only transferred its mobile phone manufacturing capabilities to TV, notebook, watch and other fields, but also built a new runway for vehicles and aircrafts, and reestablished its supply chain, sales channels, brands, etc. This is not only the direction that technology manufacturers are aiming at, but also under the pressure of external environment, Huawei accelerates the process of IOT, and makes layout to a larger integrated hardware industry chain.
Recently, Huawei has integrated its auto business with its consumer business, and apple has also announced that it will launch new auto related products. It can be seen that the giants are competing more and more fiercely on all kinds of hardware. From hardware products to software ecology, a new situation is opening up.
