I would like to take this opportunity to share with you four aspects.

I. Development Status of China's textile industry

Since this year, the new epidemic has brought unprecedented impact to economic and social development. In the face of the challenges, China's textile industry has played an important role in stabilizing employment, protecting people's livelihood and promoting development by actively ensuring the supply of epidemic prevention materials. At present, the industry's production and supply capacity and the coordination of industrial chain operation are rapidly recovering, and the operation momentum is stable and good.

The prosperity index picked up. Compared with the second quarter, the overall prosperity index of the industry rose significantly, reaching 0.51 in the second quarter. Specifically, the production index in the second quarter was 53.5, far higher than that in the first quarter; the new order index was 52.6, mainly supported by the domestic market, while the foreign order index was only 37.0, which was still very low. In the second quarter, the purchasing price index of raw materials in the textile industry increased by 16.9 points compared with the first quarter, and the sales price index of products increased by 7.1 points compared with the first quarter.

Production decline continued to narrow. Industry production is gradually recovering. According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from January to June, the industrial added value of the textile industry above Designated Size in China decreased by 6.7% year-on-year, 9.8% lower than that in the first quarter. Among them, the decline rate of textile industry was significantly narrowed by 12.3 percentage points compared with the first quarter; the decline rate of textile and clothing industry was narrowed by 7.5 percentage points; the decline rate of chemical fiber manufacturing industry was reduced by 5.7 percentage points. The production of anti epidemic materials related industries such as masks and protective clothing grew strongly. According to statistics, from January to June, the industrial added value of industrial textiles industry increased by 57.8%, and the year-on-year growth rate in June was as high as 80.7%. From the main categories of products in the textile industry, only the output of non-woven fabrics showed a positive growth trend, while the production scale of other products was shrinking.

The domestic demand market gradually recovered. Although still affected by the epidemic situation, domestic demand for textiles and clothing has shown a mild recovery trend. According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from January to June, the retail sales of clothing, footwear, knitwear and textiles of units above the national quota reached 512 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.9 percentage points compared with that of January to May; online consumption improved significantly, and the decline rate of national online wear goods retail sales decreased by 3.9 percentage points compared with January to May. However, due to the durable property of textile and garment products, the recovery of domestic demand consumer market is obviously less than that of food and use goods.

Industry exports rebounded against the trend. The decline rate of industrial exports gradually narrowed. According to the data of the General Administration of customs, from January to July, textile and clothing exports totaled 156.48 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.6%. Among them, the export of textiles was 90.08 billion US dollars, an increase of 31.3%, and the export of clothing was 66.4 billion US dollars, down 16.6%. As the purchasing demand for clothing in major markets rebounded, clothing exports tended to improve, and the decline rate was significantly narrowed compared with the previous period. From the perspective of export market, from January to June, China's textile and clothing exports to Japan, the European Union and the United States (excluding 94 chapters) increased by 16.1%, 42.7% and 5.9% respectively over the same period of the same period, while the textile and clothing exports to countries along the belt and road decreased by 12.0% year on year.

The operation quality and efficiency have been improved, but the pressure is still obvious.
