Meng Export Promotion Bureau statistics, in the past fiscal year, the export of artificial leather shoes amounted to 171 million 570 thousand US dollars, accounting for 13.3% of the total export of leather industry.

Between July and October this year, the export of these shoes increased by 11.7% and exports amounted to US $58 million 400 thousand.

According to Fortuna leather craft Limited

company

AbuTaher, chairman of the board, said that global retailers were buying artificial leather from Bangladesh because of rising production costs in China.

Fortuna has established an independent department specializing in the production of PU (polyurethane leather) leather shoes. Now it has exported 700 thousand pairs to H&M, and 800 thousand pairs will be shipped in March next year.

He said PU skin is an artificial material that looks similar to the real leather, but the price is less than 1/3 of the genuine leather.

The cost of a pair of PU shoes is 3.2 dollars, while the cost of leather shoes is about $9. Similarly, the cost of a pair of PU boots is 10 dollars, while the cost of leather shoes is 30 dollars.

Tahir, President of Bangladesh's finished leather, leather goods and footwear Exporters Association, said he was in the process.

plan

Increase the night shift of his company to meet the huge demand of this non-traditional footwear.

He said another reason for the rapid rise in demand for such shoes is that the number of substandard products in leather factories is too high, leading to an increase in demand for non leather goods.

Meng Export Promotion Bureau statistics, in the last fiscal year, leather industry exports reached a record $1 billion 290 million, an increase of 32.12% over the same period, of which 60% were exported to the European Union and 30% to Japan.

Pakistan shoe enterprises discuss improving footwear technology and increasing export advantages

Representatives of Pakistan footwear enterprises have recently participated in a seminar on how to promote the production efficiency and technology improvement of shoemaking industry.

The seminar is part of the Pakistan leather competitiveness improvement plan.

Part

The European Commission has invested about 2 million euros in the scheme to enhance industrial competitiveness.

The plan, launched in February, lasted for 3 years.

Michal Spacek, from the German international footwear competition center, put forward suggestions on how to improve the quality of shoes, effectively utilize raw materials and promote production efficiency.

In January, Pakistan was admitted to the EU GSP + alliance, which meant that Pakistan products exported to EU countries were exempt from customs duties.

There are signs that all sectors of Pakistan's businesses are investing more in order to make better use of GSP preferences and increase exports to Europe.

It also includes shoe manufacturers and tanning enterprises.
