AQSIQ: Import Clothing Quality Problems For Color Fastness Is Not Qualified
AQSIQ recently announced the quality of imported clothing products in 2011.
According to the announcement, the 2011 inspection and quarantine system of the whole country carried out the sampling inspection for 14959 batch of imported garments. The unqualified situation was mainly Chinese identification, color fastness, fiber content and part pH value, formaldehyde content, and decomposed aromatic amine dye failed.
According to the announcement, the 2011 inspection and quarantine institutions of the whole country accepted the 36951 batch of imported clothing inspection, the total value of goods was 52 million 320 thousand, the value of goods was $695 million 360 thousand, and more than 50% were imported from Shanghai port. Other main import ports were Beijing, Shenzhen and so on.

In 2011, the national inspection and quarantine system carried out a sampling survey on 14959 imported garments. The rate of inspection was 40.48%. There were 1521 batches of unqualified internal quality and 1668 unqualified samples, involving 730 thousand pieces of unqualified goods, 12 million 200 thousand dollars in value and 10.17% in batches.

Substandard products are mainly produced in Spain, Italy and Turkey.
For products that are not qualified for Chinese identification, label and fiber content, they are allowed to rectify. For products with unqualified internal quality, they are returned or destroyed.
AQSIQ will continue to strengthen inspection and supervision according to the quality of imported apparel products, constantly improve the disposal system of unqualified goods, and import products with larger quality problems.
