The "cotton association" issued a solemn statement entitled "India's policy of banning cotton exports seriously disrupting the international trade order". It hoped that the India government could correct this wrong policy of disrupting the international trade order and abide by the rules of international trade.

In March 5th, the Ministry of Commerce and industry of India abruptly issued a ban on cotton exports and decided to ban India's cotton exports from now on. This is the second time the India government has introduced the policy of restricting cotton exports after 2010.

China Cotton Association said that such irresponsible behavior resulted in the invalidation of a large number of contracts already signed.

Website news, the French echo newspaper reported on March 6th, 5, the General Administration of foreign trade of India suddenly issued a decree prohibiting the export of cotton.

Because India is the world's second largest cotton producer and exporter, the news has led to a 4.5% surge in cotton prices in May, reaching 92.23 cents per pound.

According to the statement of India's Foreign Trade Bureau, the government is worried about the tightening of domestic cotton supply, and the export volume of India cotton in the past year may be much higher than the export ceiling set by the government.

During the year from last April to the end of March this year, India exported 8 million 500 thousand cotton bundles, exceeding the government's previous 8 million 400 thousand bundles.

Analysts said that this measure may lead to a decline in global cotton supply and a possible rise in international cotton prices.

China Cotton Association sent a letter to the industry.

And the India Cotton Association expressed strong protest against the India government.

The statement said that the government of India frequently issued a policy of banning the export of cotton, causing Chinese enterprises to suffer undue huge losses.

This will not only disrupt the global cotton trade order, but also distort international cotton prices, which will also bring risks and huge losses to textile enterprises and traders.
