The export volume of the latest Canton Fair increased by 2.9%. The 102nd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) closed yesterday. The total export volume of the export exhibition amounted to US $37 billion 450 million, an increase of 2.9% over that of this spring fair.

Xu Bing, Deputy Secretary General of the Canton Fair and spokesperson of the press conference, said that the mechanical and electrical products were still the main driving force for export growth in the Canton Fair. The turnover of mechanical and electrical products reached 15 billion 620 million US dollars, an increase of 6.4% over the previous session, accounting for 41.7% of the total turnover.

By the export tax rebate policy regulation, some of the tax related merchandise pactions fell slightly.

Among them, clothing and accessories were traded at 3 billion 20 million US dollars, down by 8.8%; footwear traded at 1 billion US dollars, down by 9.2%; toys traded at US $900 million, down 10.7%; and motorcycles traded at 290 million US dollars, down 30.7%.

This Canton Fair continued to increase the penalties for the alleged infringement enterprises and strengthen the management of the booths. A total of 10 enterprises were cancelled due to infringement or illegal use of booths. The six session of the Canton Fair was eligible to participate.

According to Xu Bing, this year handled 595 complaints of alleged infringement, 877 complaints enterprises, identified 537 suspected infringement enterprises.

The number of complaints received in the export exhibition area, the number of enterprises being complained, and the number of enterprises suspected of infringement were finally increased. The increase was 4.8%, 17.9% and 18.1% respectively.

Xu Bing explained that the emergence of such a situation is related to the increasing attack on intellectual property rights and the enhancement of corporate rights awareness in the Canton Fair.

In addition, some enterprises have also appointed third party rights protection agencies to enter the field to safeguard their rights, making complaints more professional.
