The EU has imposed a sixteen point five percent anti-dumping duty on leather shoes originating in China for a period of two years. The Chinese leather goods enterprises headed by AOKANG group filed a lawsuit with the European Court of justice.

Today, Wang Zhentao, chairman of AOKANG group, who attended the seventh China (Shiling) leather goods Festival, revealed that the first round of reply has been completed, and a written reply has been received from the European Court of justice.

The future is bound to grow towards the good side and is expected to urge the EU to make relevant adjustments.

China's shoe companies, which have dragged on for a year, appealed to the EU for the first time. The second round of defence is about to begin.

Wang Zhentao, vice president of the China Leather Association and President of AOKANG group, said that even if the implementation of the bill was expired at the end of the second round of defence, the case would create pressure on the European Union and affect its decision. If no complaint is made, it will be possible to get a new round of longer sanctions, such as three or five years, and the complaint is responsible for the whole industry in China.

In view of the current situation, the EU will make adjustments after the expiration of the term, and the cancellation of anti-dumping duties is likely to be a success.

On the other hand, the case also played a publicity role for the brand going out of Chinese enterprises.

It is understood that the implementation of the EU anti-dumping measures has had a major impact on the export of China's leather shoes industry, and more than 1200 Chinese enterprises have been affected.

Take AOKANG as an example, as a leading shoe manufacturer in China, if the EU cancels or reduces anti-dumping duties, AOKANG's sales to Europe will increase by five times.

According to the statistics of China Chamber of Commerce for import and export of light industrial arts and crafts, from January to June this year, the number of leather shoes imported from China was eighty-four million double, and the import amount was more than 900000000 US dollars, which was twenty-six percent and Twenty-one percent lower than that of the same period last year.

In fact, EU buyers are firmly opposed to levying anti-dumping duties. EU footwear trade institutions have been consulting with the EU government and proposed to cancel trade remedy measures for Chinese shoes.

The industry participants who participated in the second world leather industry summit today said that there are problems in the process of investigation, calculation and procedure in the process of the European Union's ruling.

Various signs also show that "containment" comes from Chinese leather shoes being replaced by other countries' leather shoes.

Anti dumping measures have caused many European customers to turn to countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia and India.

Analysis from Austria reflects the fact that over the past year, the import of cheap footwear has not been reduced.

Shiling Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, has become the largest leather production and sales center and distribution center for raw materials and accessories. Nissan has one million leather products, with an annual value exceeding $10 billion. AOKANG, XinDa, Pierre Cardin, Goldlion and other more than 10 well-known leather goods brands are located in Shiling.

At today's opening ceremony, the Huadu District People's Government of Guangzhou city and the French Leather Association signed a cooperation agreement on intellectual property protection of leather and leather goods industry, laying the foundation for the introduction of French brands and Chinese leather products.
