   Since April 2025, the United States has implemented a new round of "equivalent tariff" policy towards China, which has directly impacted China's traditional export competitive industries such as textiles and clothing, electronic equipment, etc., making Chinese foreign trade enterprises face the dual pressure of rising export costs and loss of orders.
   Faced with the great changes in the international trade environment, China quickly launched a series of national strategic responses. Among them, the Ministry of Commerce officially launched the "China Tour of Foreign Trade Products" in Haikou on April 13, which aims to give full play to the super market scale advantage of China's 1.4 billion population, build a fast channel for foreign trade enterprises to turn to the domestic market, and fight a beautiful "turnaround battle" through policy support, channel docking, standard convergence and other measures.
   The sample of transformation from "world factory" to "national preference"
   On April 13, at the 5th Consumer Expo, a national action called "Foreign Trade Excellence in China" kicked off in Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, and a nationwide foreign trade to domestic sales action was launched.
   Sheng Qiuping, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, said at the event that the current external uncertainty is rising, the global industrial chain and supply chain are impacted, and foreign trade is under obvious pressure. The "China Travel for Foreign Trade Excellence" activity will launch a series of practical measures, foster an integrated domestic and foreign trade service platform, organize offline foreign trade excellence shopping malls, guide online e-commerce platforms to set up relevant special areas, include more foreign trade excellence into the "old for new" policy support scope, and help enterprises break through the domestic sales blockages of export products, Realize the coordinated development, smooth switching and mutual promotion of domestic and international markets.
   "The domestic market, with a population of 1.4 billion, is fully capable of absorbing the impact and generating new technologies and models. Our foreign trade products are like a fist that has been taken back in order to fight better!" Ma Zengrong, vice president of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, vividly described the essence of this transformation.
   Enterprises that have been OEM international brands for a long time can use the policy of Dongfeng to complete the transformation of their own brands. As a representative enterprise, Cai Wei, the general manager of Yida Group's Shirushi brand, said: "From OEM to brand operation, we must understand Chinese consumers." This enterprise, which was sanctioned by the United States for its firm choice of Xinjiang cotton, has been on the road of transformation in five years. Its high-quality shirts have quickly won recognition in the domestic market by virtue of the standard of "same line, same standard and same quality", It also provides a fresh sample for the transformation of foreign trade enterprises.
   According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce, the total retail sales of consumer goods in China will reach 48.8 trillion yuan in 2024, an increase of 3.5% year on year. The continuous release of consumer demand has provided considerable market capacity for the transfer of high-quality foreign trade products to domestic sales. Made in China is taking the opportunity to move from "world factory" to "national preference" and provide "China plan" for global industrial chain adjustment.
   From Haikou to the whole country: A consumption revolution of "two-way rush" between supply and demand
   The "China Tour of Foreign Trade Excellence" is not an attempt of one city and one place, but a systematic project of national linkage, which has been successfully held in several provinces by the end of April.
   As the first batch of domestic and foreign trade integration pilot provinces in China, Jiangsu Province took the lead in launching. From April 19 to 20, the "China Travel for Foreign Trade Excellence Jiangsu Station" was held in Nanjing. The event gathered more than 200 enterprises, covering textile and clothing, home furnishing, light industry and leisure, consumer electronics, medicine and health care and other industries. Among them, the textile and clothing industry has become the key breakthrough point.    The Ministry of Commerce also organized more than 80 large-scale supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, including JD, Yonghui and Byte Bounce, to dock on site, and many cooperation agreements were reached on the first day.
   It is reported that the activity of "Foreign Trade Excellence China Tour Jiangsu Station" has received more than 52000 visitors in two days, and the on-site sales are hot. The supply of Guochao silk clothing, anti-bacterial floor mats, intelligent luggage and other products cannot meet the demand. A business person exclaimed: "I have never seen such a cool design when I went abroad to study!" "Consumers are far more sensitive to quality and creativity than expected." The head of the foreign trade enterprise who first tried domestic sales admitted that the on-site order volume and channel cooperation intention had injected a boost into its transformation. Pet products exhibitors also exclaimed: "The domestic market segmentation demand is accurate, and the professionalism of the parents of hairy children is amazing!"
   During the event, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce also launched a special lecture on the integration of domestic and foreign trade, focusing on enterprise concerns such as standard certification, intellectual property protection, and building a "policy through train".
   This "two-way rush" between supply and demand has made the resonance between Jiangsu's high-quality foreign trade products and the domestic market stronger.
   Following Jiangsu closely, on April 24, the national textile and clothing docking activity of "Foreign Trade Excellence in China" was held in Xiamen. Featuring textile and clothing, Xiamen Station has attracted more than 500 exhibitors from all over the country, covering textile and clothing, surface accessories, original design, etc. More than 40 leading purchasers, including JD, Tmall, Taobao, Diaoyin E-commerce, Vipshop, RT Mart, etc., were present, and made face-to-face and one-on-one purchases with exhibitors to promote the "production, production and sales" of high-quality foreign trade products.
   At the same time, the sponsor has carefully created the "Xiamen Foreign Trade Excellence Fair" special area, which is equipped with six characteristic exhibition areas, including outdoor leisure, underwear fabrics, sports functions, pet home, platform empowerment, and comprehensive categories. 26 foreign trade brand enterprises and 2 platform enterprises have settled in the exhibition area, showing the high-quality products and innovative achievements of Xiamen's foreign trade industry in an all-round way. The "Foreign Trade Excellence Website" in the exhibition area has attracted much attention as a key display project. While supporting the export of enterprises' characteristic products, the website actively cooperates with domestic sales websites such as Alibaba to promote the website to become an enabling platform for domestic and foreign trade integration. At present, the website has nearly 170 brand enterprises settled in and launched nearly 9000 kinds of goods.
   On April 26, the "High quality Foreign Trade Products China Lake North Station" took the opportunity of the "Tesco Hubei" consumption season to build a landmark platform for export products to expand domestic sales. Through a series of special docking activities, it helped foreign trade enterprises explore the domestic market and promote consumption upgrading.
   At the scene, Jingdong Group, Taotian Group, Wushang Group and other foreign trade export enterprises signed export to domestic purchase agreements and cooperation plans with a total amount of 14.5 billion yuan, injecting strong impetus for Hubei foreign trade enterprises to expand the domestic demand market.
   About 200 foreign trade enterprises inside and outside the province, and nearly 100 circulation enterprises carried out docking. The site also released the "Tesco Hubei" consumption promotion policy during the "May Day" period. The business system of the province will carry out consumer goods trade in, shopping malls to promote consumption, catering industry to promote consumption, e-commerce platforms to promote consumption and other activities.
   It is reported that in the first quarter of this year, the total import and export volume of Hubei Province exceeded 170 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 16.6%, 15.3 percentage points higher than the national growth rate; The total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 7.3%, 2.7 percentage points higher than that of the whole country. Long Xiaohong, head of the Department of Commerce of Hubei Province, said that Hubei will combine stabilizing foreign trade with expanding consumption, and accelerate the release of consumption potential by increasing the supply of high-quality foreign trade products and cultivating new consumption growth points; At the same time, Hubei will support foreign trade enterprises to explore domestic and international markets, promote the integration of domestic and foreign trade resources, and accelerate the construction of a new development pattern.
   Looking ahead: Construct a new consumption prospect under the "double cycle"
   "China Travel of Foreign Trade Products" is not only a product exhibition, but also a reconstruction of industrial ecology.
   For a long time, a large number of high-quality goods made in China have been supplied to overseas markets. Now these foreign trade products that meet international standards are accelerating their entry into the domestic consumer market through policy support and channel docking. Although, there are still some problems, such as the inconsistency between the label standards of export commodities and domestic requirements, which prevents foreign trade products from entering the domestic market. However, we believe that with the strong promotion of the state, these problems will be properly solved soon.
   On April 24, at the press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce, the spokesman talked about four key tasks in the future, especially in helping "stabilize foreign trade and expand consumption":
   First, unblock domestic sales channels for foreign trade high-quality products, and build a platform for foreign trade enterprises to expand domestic sales. For example, through offline channels, various forms of exhibition, sales and docking negotiations are carried out in key pedestrian streets and business districts. Set up exhibition areas for foreign trade premium products in important exhibitions, and set up special areas on major e-commerce platforms through online channels to promote channel docking, production and marketing docking, so that consumers can purchase more conveniently.
   Second, we will increase support for consumption of high-quality foreign trade products. At present, various departments and local governments have issued a series of policies and measures to expand consumption, and some have included foreign trade products into the implementation scope of the policy of trade in consumer goods. Next, we should make full use of these policies and measures; At the same time, the Ministry of Commerce should combine the expansion of domestic sales of high-quality foreign trade products with the promotion of consumption activities in various regions to fully tap the consumption potential.
   The third is to cultivate the consumption brand of foreign trade high-quality products, figure out the domestic sales demand of foreign trade enterprises, and establish the list of key foreign trade high-quality products enterprises. Encourage foreign trade enterprises to develop and produce high-quality products that meet the needs of domestic consumers; Encourage foreign trade enterprises to develop their own brands, actively create foreign trade premium products IP, tell good stories about foreign trade premium products, expand publicity and promotion, and create a good consumption atmosphere.
   Fourth, promote the convergence of internal and external standard certification. Cooperate with relevant departments to carry out the investigation on the connection of domestic and foreign trade standard certification, organize the comparison of domestic and foreign standards, improve the consistency of domestic and foreign standards, open up the domestic sales blockages of export products, and reduce the cost of enterprise market conversion system. At the same time, cultivate an integrated domestic and foreign trade service platform to provide public services for enterprises to expand domestic sales.
