Ministry Of Commerce: Portugal'S Textile And Clothing Exports Fell By 8% In September, And The Export Volume Fell By 12%

The Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association (ATP) issued a statement saying that in September, Portuguese textile and clothing exports fell again year on year, with the export volume of 447 million euros, down 8%, and the export volume dropped 12%, down 6% and 12% respectively since the beginning of the year. Household textiles, other ready to wear textiles and woven garments were the most seriously affected products, with exports falling by 8.3 million euros and 7.9 million euros respectively in September. The major export destinations with the largest decline include the United Kingdom (- 19%, - 6 million euros), the United States (- 17%, - 5.8 million euros), Italy (- 9%, - 3.3 million euros), Spain (- 2%, - 2.9 million euros) and Germany (- 7%, - 2.8 million euros).
