Fujian Fiber Inspection Center Presided Over And Participated In The Formulation Of Two Textile Standards Officially Released

Recently, Fujian Fiber Inspection Center (hereinafter referred to as Fujian fiber inspection center) presided over the formulation of "evaluation of waterproof and moisture permeability of textiles" and "determination of methylcyclosiloxane residue in textiles" which was jointly formulated.

It is reported that the waterproof and moisture permeable fabric, also known as "respirable fabric", is a unique functional fabric with water-proof, moisture permeability and even wind insulation. With the rise of national fitness campaign and people's pursuit of natural and healthy lifestyle, it is widely loved by the market. "Evaluation of waterproof and moisture permeability of textiles" stipulates the performance and test methods of waterproof and moisture permeable coated fabrics, standardizes the quality requirements of waterproof and moisture permeable coated fabrics, which will improve the quality level and market competitiveness of relevant products in China, promote the industrial structure adjustment and industrial upgrading of waterproof and moisture permeable coated fabrics and related shoe-making, and protect the interests of fabrics, enterprises and end consumers.

The determination methods of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) and dodecylcyclohexasiloxane (D6) in textiles are specified in "determination of methylcyclosiloxane residues in textiles". D4, d5 and D6 can enter the environment through volatilization and waste water, and accumulate in organisms and cause biological hazards. The standard established the standard detection method of volatile methylcyclosiloxane in textiles for the first time. The implementation of the standard will help to deal with foreign trade barriers and promote the green and sustainable development of textile industry chain.
