Six New Cotton Varieties In Shandong And Henan Province Passed The Examination And Approval

Six new spring cotton varieties bred by the economic crop Research Institute of Shandong Academy of agricultural sciences have recently been approved by Shandong and Henan provinces.

The website of Shandong agriculture and rural department and Henan province agriculture and rural department released the notice on the first batch of crop varieties approved in 2021 in Shandong Province and the Announcement No. 74 of Henan Provincial Department of agriculture and Rural Affairs recently. All five new cotton varieties of Shandong Academy of agricultural sciences have passed the examination and approval of Shandong Province, and two new cotton varieties have passed the examination and approval of Henan Province.

These newly approved varieties are spring cotton varieties with different characteristics. Among them, Lumian 361 (lushenmian 20210002), Lumian 1165 (lushenmian 20210004), Lumian 321 (lushenmian 20210006), Lumian 1161 (lushenmian 20210007) and Luza 1168 (lushenmian 20210008) are suitable for Jining and Heze The results showed that there were different planting demands in three different types of cotton growing areas, i.e. "Yellow River Delta cotton region" dominated by Weifang and "Northwest cotton region of Shandong Province" dominated by Liaocheng and Dezhou; Lumian 1161 (yushenmian 20210011) and Lumian 303 (yushenmian 20210012) were suitable for planting in spring in Henan Province.

Cotton planting, cotton textile processing and comprehensive utilization of cotton products play an important role in the economic and social development and rural industry revitalization of Shandong Province. In recent years, the economic crop Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences has done a good job in variety and technology reserves around the adjustment of planting structure in traditional cotton areas, the creation of new cotton formats, and the whole process of social service of cotton production. It has focused on strengthening the variety promotion and technical services, and is providing "Lumian mode" for building Qilu model of science and technology support for Rural Revitalization.
