In February 2020, consumer prices nationwide rose by 5.2% over the same period last year. Among them, cities rose 4.8%, rural areas rose 6.3%, food prices rose 21.9%, non food prices rose 0.9%, consumer goods prices rose 7.9%, and service prices rose 0.6%. 1 in February, on average, the national consumer price rose by 5.3% over the same period last year.

In February, the national consumer price rose by 0.8%. Among them, cities rose by 0.8%, rural areas rose 0.9%, food prices rose by 4.3%, non food prices dropped by 0.2%, consumer goods prices rose 1.4%, and service prices fell 0.2%.

I. Changes in prices of goods and services year-on-year

In February, the price of food and alcoholic drinks increased by 16% over the same period last year, affecting the CPI (consumer price index) by an increase of about 4.84 percentage points. In the food, the price of livestock and meat increased by 87.6%, affecting the CPI rose by about 3.85 percentage points, of which pork prices rose by 135.2%, affecting the CPI rose by 3.19 percentage points; the price of fresh vegetables rose by 10.9%, which affected the increase of CPI by about 0.33 percentage points; the price of aquatic products increased by 2.8%, which affected CPI's rise by about 0.05 percentage points; egg prices rose 1%, affecting the increase of CPI by 0.01 percentage points; and grain prices. The grid rose by 0.7%, which affected CPI's rise of about 0.01 percentage points, and the price of fresh fruit dropped by 5.6%, which affected CPI's decline by about 0.11 percentage points.

The other seven categories of prices rose six over the same period. Other items and services, health care, education, culture and entertainment prices rose by 4.4%, 2.2% and 1% respectively, while clothing, housing, daily necessities and services prices rose by 0.5%, 0.3% and 0.1% respectively, while traffic and communications prices fell 1.6%.

Two. Price fluctuation of commodities and services

In February, the price of food and alcoholic drinks increased by 3%, which affected CPI's rise of about 0.99 percentage points. The price of fresh vegetables rose by 9.5% in food, which affected CPI's rise of about 0.28 percentage points, and the price of livestock and meat increased by 7.1%, which affected CPI's rise by about 0.53 percentage points, of which pork prices rose 9.3%, which affected CPI's rise by 0.45 percentage points. The price of fresh fruit rose 4.8%, which affected CPI's rise by 0.08 percentage points. The price of aquatic products increased by 3%, which affected the CPI's rise by about 0.05 percentage points. A drop of 5.8% will affect CPI by about 0.04 percentage points.

The price of the other seven categories increased by five. Among them, medical and health care prices rose by 0.1%; education culture and entertainment prices remained flat; traffic and communications, clothing, other goods and services prices fell by 1.5%, 0.3% and 0.2% respectively, while the prices of living, daily necessities and services decreased by 0.1%.
