The India customs will launch an automated cargo clearance system in December (2019) in December, which will take 12 hours to complete the cargo clearance process. The time required for 12 hours of customs clearance can be greatly reduced to 12 minutes. (blockchain), in this (December).

The automatic cargo clearance system will be used in 3800 high quality enterprises approved by India customs certification (authorized ECO). Nomic operator, AEO), these enterprises have good law compliance records, imported goods meet the requirements of risk assessment, and the total value of imports accounts for about 40% of India's total imports. India customs's major innovation will save a lot of freight clearance costs and time for operators, and push up the ranking of Ease of Doing Business Index made by World Bank in India.

India ranked sixty-third in the business convenience index this year, and jumped 14 places over the past 2018 years. Among them, the ranking of international trade is sixty-eighth, up 12 from last year. The index shows that the Nhava Sheva port in Mumbai, India, takes 82 hours to process cargo imports, and customs inspection and customs clearance takes 12 hours. India officials have indicated that the above mentioned automated customs clearance system will significantly shorten the time of cargo inspection and customs clearance for AEO operators to 12 minutes. In addition, for the goods which can not be used for automatic customs clearance, India customs will use the image scanner at the airport, and inspect the goods with X optical scanner at the port, which also can shorten the time of customs clearance. The scanned images can also be traced and inspected through the block chain technology in the future.

Block chain is an indispensable technology for encrypting money. It can record all transaction processes in detail and quickly, and generate supply chain operators sharing the encrypted information they use. There is no need for fraud. If applied to automatic customs clearance of goods, the entity transaction documents and customs inspection documents can be exempted. At present, the air cargo in India is the fastest way for customs clearance, followed by shipping and land transportation. Among them, 55-60% air cargo can be cleared within 48 hours. However, only 21% and 15% of the goods can be transported by sea and land at the same time; and nearly 60% of the seaborne cargo needs more than 72 hours' clearance time.

The government of India is also considering the implementation of automated customs clearance for export goods, so that each batch of goods can be obtained at the time of manufacture. The electronic seal (e-Seal) will allow the factory goods to be easily interpreted by the electronic system and transported to the port faster.
