LV Was Questioned In The Designer's Joint Series Using Traditional Embroidery Patterns In Mexico.

The Mexico government recently challenged France's luxury brand Louis Vuitton (LV) to use Mexico's traditional cultural elements in the design of a recent commodity, but failed to make its due statement.

In July 5th, the Minister of culture of Mexico said that in the design of a chair in the Dolls by Raw Edges series jointly launched by Louis Vuitton and the London Design Studio Raw Edges (priced at 14 thousand euros), there appeared the Mexico tradition of Mexico Hidalgo (Hidalgo) state.

In an open letter, the Minister of culture of Mexico said: "we understand that in the Dolls by Raw Edges series, there is a local embroidery pattern on a chair in Mexico. The intellectual property rights of this pattern belong to the handicraftsmen and community in Tenango de Doria area of Hidalgo state. We feel obliged to ask Louis Vuitton whether this chair has been working with local communities and artists in the design process. "

In response, Louis Vuitton responded, "we are currently working with artists in the Tenango de Doria area of Hidalgo and co creating this series."

This is not the first time that the Mexico government has made similar allegations. In June of this year, they also raised similar questions to the Carolina Herrera brand, and thought that the latter Resort 2020 series design used the symbol of Mexico traditional culture.

In this regard, Wes Gordon, creative director of Carolina Herrera, said that the aim of this series is to pay tribute to Mexico's "excellent diversification of handcraft" and also a display of the origin of brand Latin America.
