Entrepreneurial History Of Senegal Merchants In Yiwu, Zhejiang
In July 15th, Sal's wife Hui Li (right back two) talked about a women's bag business with a Gambia client in Yiwu Saal trading company.
"I've been in Yiwu for over 10 years," Mamadou Sal, a 45 year old businessman from Senegal, sighed with less fluent Putonghua. "Now, my friends are all over Yiwu, and Yiwu is my hometown."
In February 2002, Saal came from North Carolina to find business opportunities in Yiwu, known as "World supermarket", and became the first African American "gold digger" to enter the Yiwu market.
Earlier, Sal had studied and worked in the United States for 10 years, and married with Gambia Hui Li, giving birth to his son Jordan and daughter Qiao Mei.
After settling in Yiwu, Sal registered his trading company as "Oriental Industrial Co., Ltd." and began selling to African countries.

With his business philosophy in the US and his understanding of "making money in Yiwu", he not only quickly integrated into the local market, but also made more and more business.
In 2004, he reunited his wife and children in Yiwu, arranged for his wife to be in charge of the company's finances, and sent their children to a private school in the first place.
Two years later, they had a youngest son in Yiwu.
After ten years of arduous pioneering work, Sal has developed the "Orient Corp" of the year into the Yiwu Saal trading company named after its homonym. Its import and export business is in many countries in western Africa, with a monthly shipment volume of more than 10 containers and a branch in Guangzhou, China.
Today, his distribution involves

"I have great confidence in the future of China."
Saar stood at the window of his office in the golden section of the city. He said, "when the business is bigger, we are going to run factories and do business, and then sell the products at a good price."
Thrall's career is thriving. He has sent 7 relatives from Africa to work in Yiwu, and he has seen further progress. "We have to train our children to become China players so that they can do business in the future."
