Textile And Garment Production In Brazil

Brazil

Although the textile industry has been unfairly competitive by several Asian countries, Brazil's

Garment production

Ranking in the world is still rising, ranking only behind China, India and Pakistan.

According to ABIT (Brazil textile and Apparel Manufacturers Association), Brazil made nine billion and eight hundred million garments last year, accounting for 12.6% of global output.

ABIT said there are two reasons why Brazil's ranking can rise.

1. The share of garments in Mexico is declining in the US market, because the United States has lifted the restrictions on the import of Chinese garments.

Two, Brazil's domestic consumption is increasing.

92% of the ready-made garments made by domestic garment producers last year were sold domestically, and their turnover last year was US $sixty billion.

Statistics also show that the productivity of domestic garment factories is also improving, that is, the average number of garments produced by one worker per year has increased from six thousand and six hundred in the past year to seven thousand and four hundred last year, and the productivity of this year is expected to be equal to that of last year.

In order to ensure the import and export of garments
