Brazil Wants To Form A Regional Footwear Industry Alliance With Latin American Countries.
Brazil Footwear Industry Association yesterday said that in order to deal with competition from Asia, it hopes to join hands with Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay and Paraguay to form a formal regional footwear industry alliance.
In the first 7 months of this year, Brazil imported 13 million 100 thousand pairs of shoes from Asia, 65% higher than last year, while Brazil's footwear exports fell 4% during the same period.
