Functionalization, adapted to the change of people's life style and the expectation of health, comfort and increment, provides more choices for people's perfect life. It is the direction of technological progress of textile products, and is the improvement of textile products' grades and added value.

In recent years, with the progress of science and economic development, the types of functional textiles are increasing, and the rapid development of functional textile industry has become an important part.

High and new technology industry

This article introduces several new functional textiles and their applications as references for purchase and use.

Negative ion textiles

The great influence of negative ions on human health and ecology has been verified by clinical practice at home and abroad.

Negative ions, such as human health, play an important role, such as the elimination of active acid in human body, eliminating fatigue, activating cells, enhancing immunity and improving sleep.

The principle of production of negative ion textiles is to add negative ion finishing agent in the production process of fiber or finishing stage of fabric. The negative textiles produced by negative ion finishing agents are released continuously in contact with air, water and gas.

The negative ion garment made of this fabric directly contacts with the human skin, forming negative ion air layer between the skin and clothes, and playing the health function of negative ions.

Besides the application in the field of clothing, negative ion textiles also have broad application prospects in the two fields of decorative textiles and medical and health textiles.

Moisture absorption and sweat perspiration textiles

Also known as moisture absorption and quick drying textiles, the moisture absorption, quick drying and sweat perspiration performance of fabrics are characterized by the ability of textiles to adsorb water, water evaporation rate on fabrics and moisture permeability.

The production of moisture absorption and sweat perspiration textiles is mainly based on moisture absorption and sweat fiber, physical and chemical modification of polyester fibers; two, moisture absorption and quick drying finishing of textiles.

Moisture absorption and sweat perspiration textiles are mainly used in sportswear, casual wear, underwear and so on.

Clothes & Accessories

Because it can solve the problem of sticky hot and sweat, it can adjust the interior climate of clothing and make clothing have the characteristics of "breathing", so it also has the name of "breathable textiles".

Far infrared textiles

Far infrared textiles are short for a type of textiles with high efficiency and far infrared emission properties.

Far infrared rays are easily absorbed by the body. It not only causes thermal effects on the skin surface, but also produces resonance effect through molecules, resulting in skin deep tissue fever. This effect can stimulate cell activity, improve blood microcirculation, improve body immunity, and play a series of medical and health care functions.

Far infrared textiles will be able to absorb external energy (including light energy and human body heat energy) during the finishing process or fiber forming process, and can efficiently pmit far-infrared materials or bind to textiles, so that the far-infrared radiation rate will be higher than 65% in the wavelength range of 4~20 m.

Far infrared textiles can be used to develop health care products and medical products such as thermal clothing, underwear, bedding (bedsheets, blankets, etc.), cushions, kneecap, belts, health shoes and socks, etc.

Electromagnetic radiation resistant textiles

With the development of economy and technology, the application of electromagnetic radiation facilities and equipment is inevitable.

Electromagnetic radiation is colorless, tasteless and invisible. It is a pollution phenomenon that can not be perceived by the senses. It is regarded as the "invisible killer" and "high-tech pollution" of human beings.

WHO believes that in all kinds of pollution, electromagnetic radiation is the most serious threat, which seriously affects public health and ecological environment.

Anti electromagnetic radiation textiles are specialized technology and special technology to combine electromagnetic shielding materials (usually metal materials) with textile fiber materials to reflect and shield electromagnetic waves.

The general shielding effectiveness is more than 95%, and the textile has both antistatic properties.

At present, there are three types of electromagnetic radiation textiles that are available in the market. They are metal wire electromagnetic shielding fabric, electroless plating fabric, electromagnetic shielding fabric, and electromagnetic shielding fabric. They can be applied to field care products (tent, clothing), interior decoration cloth, maternity clothes, industrial protective clothing, industrial protective coating materials and military.

Anti ultraviolet textiles

In recent decades, due to human activities, especially the increase in Freon usage, the ozone layer around the earth has created holes, resulting in the rapid increase of ultraviolet radiation on the surface of the earth, resulting in an increasing incidence of human skin cancer and seriously affecting human health.

The national standard GB/T 18830 - 2009 "textile UV protection performance evaluation" stipulates that the ultraviolet protection coefficient of textiles UPF>40, and ultraviolet pmittance T (UVA) <5%, can be called anti UV products.

Anti ultraviolet textiles can effectively prevent or weaken the harm of ultraviolet radiation to human body.

There are two ways of producing UV resistant textiles:

(1) direct use of UV resistant fibers to spin textiles in a conventional way.

The key to this method is the UV resistance of UV resistant fibers.

At present, the production of UV protection fiber is made of inorganic ceramic micro powder and polymer chips mixed into masterbatches, and then spinning or fiber polymer in the process of polymerization, melting state of inorganic ceramic micro powder or UV shielding properties, these substances can strongly absorb wavelengths of ultraviolet radiation between 280nm~400nm.

(2) using functional finishing technology, the UV finishing agent will be firmly integrated with the textiles.

At present, there are outdoor sports clothes, anti UV shirts, parasols (sunshade umbrellas), curtains and tents for sale on the market.

Nano textiles

The whole name is "nano technology for textile processing", that is, the application of nanometer (1 nm = "10-9 meters") technology in the production and processing of products or specific parts of the fabric, so that the textile has antibacterial, waterproof, anti oil, easy to decontamination, anti ultraviolet and other functions.

The application of nanotechnology in the textile industry has entered a stage of growth. There are two ways of processing at present. One is to fill the nano particles into the fibers to modify the fibers and enhance the functional properties of the fibers. The other way is to use the coating finishing technology to form nano particles on the fabric surface.

Nano textiles are versatile, widely used in clothing, medical, food, catering, military and other industries. In the field of clothing, there are sales of nano shirts, T-Shirts, hats, casual clothes for men and women in the market. In December 2009, the implementation of the national standard GB/T22925 - 2009 nano technology garment processing standardized the application of nano textiles in the field of clothing.
