In the United States, it has been used for the treatment of colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, malignant glioma and renal cell carcinoma. Its safety has been confirmed by a number of clinical trials. Up to now, over 800 thousand cancer patients have received Avastin therapy worldwide.

Recently, a hospital in Shanghai used Avastin to treat eye diseases and caused ophthalmic events in 61 patients. In September 22nd, the food and Drug Administration of Shanghai issued a message confirming that a hospital in Shanghai had used counterfeit drugs.

The Roche Pharmaceutical Ltd in Shanghai said it strongly condemned the drug counterfeiting behavior that put the patient's safety at risk.
