Beijing will declare "the capital of world design"

Strive to design industrial services revenue to exceed 130 billion yuan by 2012.

Reporters learned yesterday from the Municipal Science and Technology Commission that Beijing will declare the "world design capital" to UNESCO.

According to the "work plan for comprehensively promoting the design industry in Beijing" recently passed, the capital design innovation promotion plan to be implemented will focus on industrial design, architectural design, planning and design, computer animation design, integrated circuit design, arts and crafts design, clothing and costume design, and other key areas, to develop trading channels, integrate manufacturing, strengthen enterprise cultivation, alliance formation, personnel training, brand building and base construction.

In 3 years, we will cultivate the top 50 enterprises in the design industry, build 3-5 design industrial agglomeration areas, and design industrial service revenue to break through 130 billion yuan by 2012.

We should strive to build Beijing as the "capital of the world" and make it a prominent symbol of the world city.

This is the first time that Beijing has unified the design industry as the overall work plan of the whole city.

Xicheng Desheng science and technology park will build the first design trading market in the country. Beijing will also implement the high-end design talent gathering project, and actively attract the world's top design talents and institutions to develop in Beijing.

In addition, "Beijing International Design Week" and "Beijing clothing week" and other activities will become long-term activities to promote Beijing's design brand building.
