After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, another great event in the world is Shanghai. World Expo The curtain will soon be unveiled. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your long-term commitment to the preparations for the Shanghai Expo. For this World Expo, the vast majority of Shanghai citizens have eagerly anticipated and unparalleled pride, and have given active and strong support.

The hosting of World Expo is a special memory for the Japanese. Japan first held World Expo in Osaka in 1970, when the Japanese economy was developing at a high speed. In the time when international exchanges are not so frequent now, World Expo, Osaka, has provided us with valuable opportunities to directly contact foreign cultures and objects. It also provides excellent opportunities for Japan to publicize the achievements of economic development in the world. Since then, Japan has held the Okinawa ocean Exposition (1975), the Tsukuba Science Fair (1985) and the world flower and Green Exposition (1990), all of which have played a positive role in promoting social development and people's awareness in Japan. In 2005, with the theme of "natural wisdom", the World Expo of love and earth was held in Aichi County, and the social mode and cutting-edge technology to transmit the harmonious coexistence with the environment to the world has become an important turning point for enhancing the awareness of environmental protection. At the same time, not only domestic tourists, tourists from all over the world have visited all the above fairs, and have made great achievements in international exchange and information transmission.

Following the 2005 love earth World Expo After this meeting, Shanghai's World Expo will once again show the vitality of East Asia as the center of world growth. Although the economy is showing signs of recovery, the reality is still in the middle of difficulties. Therefore, the successful hosting of the 70 million largest Shanghai World Expo in history is not only for China but also for the courage and vitality of people in Asia and around the world. We expect this World Expo to become an important turning point in the revitalization of the world economy. A long time ago, Shanghai actively introduced capital and technology from abroad and gradually became an international metropolis. I also visited the long lost Shanghai because of attending the opening ceremony of the Japanese pavilion in February last year, and I was very surprised at the pace of Shanghai's progress. What is more meaningful is that the world and many cities will pay attention to and draw on the valuable experience of World Expo's driven development mode. Therefore, Shanghai World Expo, with the theme of "Better City and better life", is looking forward to providing a new perspective for solving the urban problems of twenty-first Century.

With the development of Shanghai, the number of Japanese living in this area has been increasing. Now it is close to 50 thousand people, and Japanese enterprises have expanded to about 7000. As the city with the largest Japanese society in the world, Shanghai has become an important platform for Japan to exchange.

Through exchanges and dialogues, we have not only deepened friendly goodwill between China and Japan, but also developed a strategic and mutually beneficial relationship and deepened mutual understanding and communication. From this point of view, Shanghai, a city as an important platform for Japan's exchange, will further deepen the friendly development of Sino Japanese relations in World Expo. It is hoped that this World Expo will further expand the wide range of exchanges between the various levels of the nation.

In addition, it is held in Asia's major neighbour, and is also the largest Shanghai in history. World Expo Japan has been investing in the whole country. The Japanese pavilion in the Expo site, in addition to its public collection of endearment and the naming of the Japanese pavilion in the "Purple silkworm island", also includes the pavilion of the Osaka City Pavilion as the best practice area of the city, and the Japanese Industrial Museum jointly built by Japanese business groups. At present, all the pavilions are in tight construction. All the venues are set up with all kinds of creativity and wisdom. You are welcome to visit and enjoy the Expo.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to offer my best wishes for the success of World Expo, Shanghai, which has lasted for half a year.
