Recently, cotton international held cotton USA solutions ® Technical seminar: "new technologies to enhance the competitiveness of spinning mills". The seminar invited industry experts to share the technological innovation of China's cotton textile industry, as well as cotton and cotton USA solutions in the United States ® The core spinning technology solutions are designed to help spinning mills improve their competitiveness in a difficult business environment.

Ms. Xiao Meiling, director of the agricultural and Trade Department of the US embassy in China, made an opening speech to express her gratitude to the participants for their support and participation in the technical exchanges and cooperation between the global cotton textile industry, textile and clothing industry.

At the meeting, Mr. Jing Shenquan, vice president of China Cotton Textile Industry Association, focused on the theme of "technological progress and product innovation of China's cotton textile industry", analyzed the challenges faced by China's cotton textile industry and the improvement and innovation of technical products from four aspects of the industry's basic situation, technological progress, product innovation and future development. Vice President Jing said that in the future, China's cotton textile industry will continue to adhere to an open and cooperative attitude, participate more deeply in the international textile and clothing supply chain, and provide the world with the best quality yarn and fabric through continuous improvement of product quality, so as to meet the demand of global consumers for beautiful textiles and clothing.

Mr. thavasi Vijayakumar, senior technical consultant of cotton International Association of America, introduced how to use American upland cotton to produce 60s and 70s yarns in his speech "the practice of producing high count yarn with upland cotton in America". Mr. Vijayakumar explained that through the selection of fiber parameters and bale management, American upland cotton can produce high count yarns of similar quality to Pima cotton, which can be used to produce high-end woven fabrics and top-grade knitted fabrics suitable for bed sheets and shirts.

Mr. Lieven verraest, another technical consultant of cotton International Association of America, shared his professional experience in dyeing and finishing technology. In 2021, Mr. verraest compared the cotton from India, West Africa, the United States and Brazil through the test conducted in two well-known spinning factories and knitting fabric production enterprises in India, and verified that American cotton has excellent competitiveness in terms of dye absorption, whiteness, defects, loss and shrinkage of knitted fabrics.

The workshop also invited Mr. David McAlister, product manager of Uster technologies, to teach how to achieve consistency by optimizing blending. The methods of cotton fiber blending recommended by Mr. McAlister include: adopting appropriate packing size to overcome the highest variation of fiber properties, and gradually reducing the fiber cluster size to improve the fiber mixing uniformity. The mixing capacity of the opening and cleaning workshop should be 2 times of the number of bales contained in a row. The equipment should be operated at nearly 100% efficiency to reduce start-up and stop times. Proper blending and blending should be carried out on the drawing frame, and fiber uniformity should be further improved before spinning. During the on-site Q & a session, Mr. Ye Jianchun, chief engineer of China Cotton Textile Industry Association, Mr. thavasi Vijayakumar, senior technical consultant of cotton International Association of America, Mr. Lieven verraest, technical consultant, and Mr. David McAlister, product manager of Uster Technology Co., Ltd., gave detailed answers to various questions raised by online participants. 271 people from 132 enterprises attended the seminar, which attracted the attention of China's cotton textile industry.
