Over the past few years, numerous infant clothing items related to flammable standards have been recalled. In order to avoid such risks, cross border sellers selling this category should comply with the relevant mandatory provisions.

The following is a brief summary of the American federal flammability standard and the Children's Sleepwear Regulations (CPSC Sleepwear Regulations), also known as the "United States federal regulations" (Code of Federal Regulations) Chapter sixteenth.

Children's pajamas should meet these standards.

1. The significance of flammability standards for children's pajamas

The core purpose of flammable regulations is to protect children from the risk of burns.

These regulations require children and baby pajamas to be flame-retardant and self extinguishing when they are exposed to small objects such as candles, lighters or matches.

Flammability requirements start from 9 month old baby pajamas, requiring pajamas to be either tested through specific flammability or "comfortable fit" (snug-fitting), which is defined by CPSC and involves specific clothing sizes.

2. Which clothes belong to children's pajamas?

The scope of CPSC is not only limited to the sale of pajamas, but also to children's clothing for 9 months or more, for sleeping or any related activities.

According to the relevant regulations, as long as the pajamas are not more than 25.75 inches in length, or the length of each piece of the two piece is not more than 15.75 inches, the pajamas or the pajamas suitable for infants less than 9 months do not need to meet the relevant standards.

In addition, these items must indicate the intended use and the applicable age of the infant.

3. How to test children's pajamas?

Pajamas for children must be compulsory certification by the third party certification bodies. Through the flammability test, the relevant standards specify the specific test methods and combustion performance requirements.

If a garment cannot pass the flammability test, it can not be re tested and the product will be destroyed.

4, children's pajamas label requirements

Children's pajamas and clothing should be separated from other clothing advertisements, and must contain a permanent label indicating the correct way of care for the flame-retardant pajamas, and a permanent label with a specific identification number that can be tracked.
