According to Lee Myung-bak's leadership in the State Council meeting in October last year, the hospital should make a survey of the prices of necessities related to people's lives.

supply and demand

The "price reduction" directive was set up in 7 countries, including New York, Toronto, London, France, Paris, Italy, Milan, Germany, Frankfurt and Tokyo, as well as the 22 major necessities of the major cities in China, including Hongkong, Singapore, Taiwan and Taipei.

Price

Comparison.

The hospital first published the price of 22 necessities such as pork, garlic, beef, jeans, biscuits, milk powder, hygienic cotton, diesel oil, cleanser, gasoline, egg, shampoo, gas (LPG), bread, milk, toilet paper, edible oil, sugar, onion, kerosene, flour and instant noodles in Seoul in from February 21st to 25th. The data show that Seoul has 12 items more expensive than foreign countries, of which pork price is 2 times that of foreign countries, and flour is 42% cheaper than foreign countries.

According to the above announcement, pork items (104%), garlic (56%), jeans (24%), biscuits (17%), milk powder (8%), hygienic cotton (6%), diesel oil (4%), Cleanser (4%), gasoline (2%), egg (2%), shampoo (2%) are higher than those of foreign countries, and LPG (-2%), bread (-10%), milk (-10%), toilet paper (-10%), edible oil (-12%), sugar (-16%), onion (-17%), kerosene (-19), flour (-42%) and instant noodles (-46%) are cheaper than foreign ones.

According to the hospital, every kind of daily necessities will affect the selling price due to the difference of the circulation structure, such as petroleum products, sanitary cotton and detergent, etc., because a few manufacturers are independent and monopolize the market, resulting in price difference.

The price of pork is 2 times higher than that of foreign countries. The main reason is that after the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in November (2010), the supply of pork decreased by more than 1/3, affecting wholesale prices by more than 60%.

In addition, compared with foreign cheap noodles, they are subject to government price constraints and can not raise prices. At present, flour producers have repeatedly sought to raise prices.

In the second quarter, the hospital will increase the price of 28 necessities and make price comparisons at home and abroad. The survey results will be pferred to the relevant departments of the Fair Trade Commission and so on as a reference for improving the scheme.
