The thirty-second international textile machinery statistics reports compiled by the Federation of international textile manufacturers show that from 2003 to 2007, the investment in textile machinery industry was very strong. In 2008, the delivery of new textile machinery in the world decreased significantly, and the delivery volume in most areas in 2009 continued to decrease.

The 2009 survey was carried out by about 112 textile machine manufacturers.

Compared with 2008, the shipment of staple spinning spindles in 2009 decreased by 17% to 7 million 200 thousand spindles, and the rotor delivery of air spinning rotor decreased by 26% to 144500 units. The shipment of shuttle looms decreased by 3% to 43400 units, and the electronic cross knitting machine shipments dropped by 12% to 17840 units. Meanwhile, the shipment of deformed spindles increased by 49%, while disc knitting machines increased by 20% to 25450 units.

Until 2007, investment was at a high tide. The investment boom before 2007 was closely related to China's accession to the world trade organization. It also related to the end of the traditional quota system at the end of 2008 in WTO textile and clothing agreement. Because of the cyclical causes and the outbreak of the global financial and economic crisis, the investment boom of textile machinery suddenly stopped.
