The New EU Trade Partner (Restriction) Measure Report Covers The Textile Industry

According to the European Union website (europa.eu) announcement, the European Commission issued the "potential trade restrictive measures (Sixth Edition)" to comprehensively assess the main partners of the EU from November 2009 to April 2010.

And restrictive measures, the basic conclusions include: in 2010, there was still the risk of second round of trade protection measures due to the increase in unemployment; the EU trade partners introduced 73 trade restrictive measures, so that the total number of trade restrictive measures was increased to 278, and the trend of protection measures had not been curbed; less than 20 protective measures introduced in the crisis were abolished, and the results were disappointing compared with the commitments made by the leaders of the G20 Summit; the customs union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, which started in January 1, 2010, will lead to the majority of Russia.

The rising level is the most prominent example of protection measures; attention should still be paid to the "purchase of domestic" measures and discriminatory measures of government procurement; G20 countries need to once again implement their commitment to abolish trade protection measures.


Among the new protection measures listed in the report, 3 are related to China: (1) the supporting measures for wind power generator manufacturing industry are being planned; (2) the restrictions on foreign purchases in public procurement; and (3) the list of self innovation product certification issued in November 2009.

In the list of potential trade restrictive measures, 19 items are involved in China.

Textile and clothing

There are 1 items in telecommunications, raw materials and shipbuilding industry, 2 in steel and nonferrous metals, automotive and service industries, and 9 in other industries.
